Butcher & Barlow’s Northwich office, situated on London Road, was badly affected by the heavy flooding which occurred in the town at the end of October 2019. At peak, the river level was recorded at 2.82m at nearby Hayhurst Bridge and inside the building the water level topped a meter. The office has been closed to the public whilst the significant damage sustained to the property has been repaired and the furniture and equipment replaced.

Despite the challenges the staff working at London Road have showed great perseverance, with all clients continuing to receive unwavering attention. Some of the team were temporarily relocated to the Firm’s Gadbrook Park office, with the rest of the team making use of the first-floor space.

With work progressing swiftly on the office over the last 5 weeks, we are delighted to confirm that it is back to business as usual, with the office having fully re-opened with a fresh new look.

Partner Caroline Cockill-Guy manages the London Road office:

“The past month has been a challenging time for my team but they have showed great resilience and tenacity in making sure that none of our valued clients have been adversely affected by the effects of the flooding. I am very proud of how they have pulled together.  I would also like to thank the members of the local community who came to our aid as the waters were rising, providing sandbags to stem the flood in to the building and offering spare offices to help us continue with our business as well as much needed refreshments .”
