This may be following a separation, divorce, or in the case of cohabitation. To do this you will need to enter into a transfer of equity, our team will advise you and prepare the transfer of equity for you.

What our clients say about our Residential Property Service

I am very happy to recommend friends and family to your firm as you have always demonstrated a robust and equally pragmatic approach to the cases you manage. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with yourself over the years and I am 100% reassured that Chloe cannot go wrong with you guys in her corner!

Helen

I have worked with Philip Thompson both for the purchase and the sale of my house and I have to say he is very professional, efficient and has your best interests at heart. Highly recommend ++

Sibylle

Joanne has dealt with all my property sales and purchases for many years. She is exceptionally responsive, completely reliable, always completes the task in hand with professionalism and is honest and realistic in her approach. A credit to the practice.

Alison

Nicholas Ball has dealt with property purchases and business matters for us over the last two years. I find him to be very responsive, proactive and reliable. Nicholas works to find solutions to challenges and is very easy to work with. I highly recommend Nicholas.

Katherine

We are very impressed with the service we have received from Nicholas Ball. Throughout the conveyancing process Nicholas has been efficient, friendly and, very importantly, there has been excellent communication; clearly answering all of our questions. We have felt confident that our best interests have been served and would highly recommend this company to any prospective client.

Susan

Phillip Thompson acted on my behalf, and the process was trouble free - especially considering the negative effects of the Covid-19 on businesses. The house purchase was completed in good time, and I am now in my new property. Butcher & Barlow have acted on my behalf on most of my house moves over the years, and have always provided an excellent service. Would strongly recommend.

Roger

Sadly I did not utilise Butcher & Barlow under particularly favorable circumstances. I've had two very difficult and ultimately unsuccessful conveyancing experiences while with them. I am happy to say however, that while things did not go as planned, Butcher & Barlow conducted themselves professionally, ethically and with patience. The difficult circumstances I found myself in did give them the opportunity to demonstrate that they're honest, patient, stick to their word, and have empathy when it is required. Philip Thompson in particular should be commended for the way he handled interactions with a disagreeable behaviour from a third party, and subsequently in handling my own frustrations in reaction to this. He helped me to understand what my options were and provided support and sympathy in a professional manner. I'll absolutely return to Butcher & Barlow to hopefully have a more successful sale and purchasing experience in the near future.

Steve

Very responsive to queries and very patent with an anxious/ stressed client . It was always reassuring to have someone with Philip's experience on side.

Just exchanged on my house and Philip Thompson has been brilliant. He has ensured everything has gone smoothly and chased the buyers solicitors when needed. He kept us informed and was honest with us. Would definitely recommend him for conveyancing. Like any solicitor I'm sure he has a high workload but he has put in the time and we felt like he actually cared about us completing on time. He was very patient with me. Thanks again to Philip and the rest of the team at Butcher & Barlow LLP.

K Pall

Just to say a massive thank you for all you have done for my dad in regard to his house sale. You are exceptional. You have kept me informed and to speak to you is like speaking to a good friend.
