Butcher & Barlow are going from strength to strength

We are pleased to have announced 11 new appointments and 4 promotions in the last half of 2022 after seeing an increase in demand for our services across all departments in 2022. We have made six Fee-Earner appointments, 3 Trainee Solicitors and 2 Paralegal appointments since August. 4 Paralegals have been promoted to Trainee Solicitors.

Associate Solicitor, Tom Newman, who joined the Corporate and Commercial Team in October, after two years at his previous firm said:

Having worked alongside Butcher & Barlow on a number of deals in my previous role, I was aware of the quality of their work and jumped at the opportunity of joining them.

They have the in-house expertise and size of clients that you’d find in a larger city centre firm but without the impersonal corporate manner you find in large city firms.

I’m relishing the opportunity of working with larger clients and being part of the shared decision making and collaborative approach Butcher & Barlow are so good at.

Helen Chadderton, a Private Client Solicitor who joined in September said:

We’re often dealing with very personal, private and sometimes painful information in this area of law and it’s important that clients feel they can trust us.

We need to become part of their trusted inner circle as quickly as possible and the collaborative way of working and decision making that Butcher & Barlow employ suits this extremely well.

It gives me the confidence to do the best I can for each client knowing I can call on expertise from other departments if needed.

As a Firm we also place great emphasis on developing and nurturing young talent and have a successful Young Lawyers’ programme which has led to the recent recruitment of six Paralegals. We understand that effective mentoring and training forms a key part of a young Solicitor’s professional development.

Senior Partner, Jonathan Aldersley, said:

We place great emphasis on attracting and keeping the best staff, at every level. We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ needs and providing sound commercial advice and for that we need the right calibre of staff.

These new appointments do just that and are a further indication of Butcher & Barlow’s ambitions for growth and excellence.
