Collaborative Law

Collaborative family law is a non-confrontational approach to resolving issues arising out of the breakdown of a relationship. Helen Oakes based at our Frodsham and Runcorn offices is a trained collaborative lawyer.

Under the collaborative process, each person appoints their own collaboratively trained lawyer and you, the other party, and your respective lawyers all meet together to try and resolve matters in a series of face to face meetings.  All parties sign an agreement to commit to trying to resolve matters without going to court.  This means that all parties are able to discuss matters in an open honest way and are committed to finding the best solution by agreement, rather than through the court process.  Once an agreement has been reached, your collaborative lawyer will draw up a settlement agreement which can be submitted to the court for approval and made into a court order.

If you are interested in the collaborative law process, please contact Helen Oakes at our Frodsham office.
