West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Young Chamber

On Friday 8th February 2019, Alex Sandland, a Partner in our Commercial Litigation Department, attended at a Young Chamber event for the benefit of Christleton High School.

Young Chamber is a new initiative from the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce for schools and colleges. It’s purpose is to help bridge the gap between businesses and the education sector.

The apprenticeship event was kindly hosted at the University of Law in Christleton and was intended to serve as a platform in advising Sixth Form students as to possible career options; vocational routes to qualification; and alternative paths. The event was attended by a multitude of professionals from across the region.

The format of the half day event was very innovatively structured by Christleton High School in conjunction with the Young Chamber. The students were afforded an opportunity for an informal ‘meet and greet’ followed by a group task and thereafter with formal interviews and feedback.

Butcher & Barlow are proud to be Young Chamber sponsors.  The initiative enables the Firm to take an active role in supporting our local community, helps to bridge the skill gap and provides connections to potential work placements and future employees.
