Butcher & Barlow enjoys a weekend of community events

Bramhall Lane Tennis Club Open Day

On Saturday 20th May, the team from our Bramhall office had a great afternoon in the sunshine attending the Bramhall Lane Tennis Club open day. A club we have proudly supported with sponsorship since 2012. The open day is an annual event at which the club showcases the facilities they have on offer as well as putting on fun activities such as cardio tennis, a fastest serve competition and a delicious BBQ. It was great to get involved with the event and see so many people enjoying themselves participating in the many different types of tennis hosted by the club. Special thanks to Rachel Martin, Helen Chadderton, Paige Lester and Grant Redburn who attended the event on behalf of Butcher & Barlow and thoroughly enjoyed chatting to so many existing and prospective members of the club. Congratulations to Kath Chadwick, who was the winner of our prize draw to win a hamper full of goodies. Unfortunately Kath had left but her son readily agreed to take the prize on her behalf.

Prestwich Clough Day

The annual Prestwich Clough day returned to St Mary’s Flower Park on Sunday 21st May. The Prestwich Clough day was initiated in 2006 and was originally a one off event to celebrate the Centenary of the Clough being handed over to the public. The event was such a success it is now an annual event. With a vast array of activities to entertain all members of the family and the glorious sunshine, it was a fun-filled day for all. Whilst we have sponsored the event for several years, it was the first time we had set up our own stand. The team from our Prestwich office, Tiffany Shoesmith, Dianne Penlington, Donna Crossthwaite, Elaine Riley and Elaine Smith had a fabulous time with so many people joining in with our garden games and entering our competition  ‘Guess the number of sunflowers in the jar’. We will be in touch with the winner shortly.

Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club Duck Race

Sunday 21st May also saw the first of the many local Rotary Club Duck races we are supporting this year. The duck races are a great way to bring local communities together, enjoying some family fun whilst helping to raise funds for local charities and good causes. Our entry to the Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club Giant Duck Race at Bramhall Park was – Elvis .For those who have been followers of Butcher & Barlow for a while will know why the Bramhall office chose this name! Helen and Hannah Seppman at our Bramhall office did an excellent job of dressing him ready for his big race. Elvis put in a valiant effort and beat all but one of the competition, securing second place in his race. Keep your eyes peeled for more giant Butcher & Barlow ducks making a splash in rivers near you!

With eleven offices across the North West, it is always an absolute pleasure to support the different community events local to our high street offices.
