Butcher & Barlow announces strategic leadership changes in Agricultural and Rural Affairs Department

Butcher & Barlow has announced strategic leadership changes within its Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team.

Mike Bracegirdle, a Partner at Butcher & Barlow with over forty years of experience, will be transitioning from his role as the head of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team to focus on business development for the Agricultural and Rural Affairs, Commercial Property and Commercial departments. Mike will remain an integral part of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs department, taking on a consultancy and advisory role to support the wider team, and will continue to be a point of contact for both new and existing clients.

Mike has been instrumental in leading the Agriculture and Rural Affairs team for the past ten years, guiding it to numerous successes, including recognition as a Tier 1 department in The Legal 500. Mike himself has been named as a Leading Individual by The Legal 500 for the past four years and was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, reflecting his expertise and contributions to the field.

Reflecting on his transition, Mike said:

After a decade of serving the Firm and heading the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team, it is now the opportune moment for me to make a strategic shift towards business development.  I love meeting new people and catching up with the contacts I have developed over 40 years and identifying the challenges and issues they face and introducing them to the team at Butcher & Barlow. Succession planning is crucial for the sustained growth of any organisation, and I am confident that Rebecca Jepson is well-equipped to lead the team to new heights. I look forward to supporting the Firm in my new role.

Rebecca Jepson, who has been with Butcher & Barlow for 10 years will now head up the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team.

Rebecca specialises in Commercial and Agricultural Property and business transactions, providing expert counsel to property developers, landed estates, farmers, and SMEs. Her proficiency in advising on property transactions, tenancy matters, and business structures has earned her recognition as a trusted advisor in the industry.

Rebecca said:

I am honoured to lead the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team at Butcher & Barlow and build upon the strong foundations laid by Mike. I am committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients in the rural sector and ensuring that the department continues to thrive.
