Philip Joy

I joined Butcher and Barlow as a Paralegal in January 2021, with a view to starting my training contract in September 2021.

Prior to joining the firm my legal experience has primarily been in personal injury litigation at a specialist law firm in Wilmslow. I spent 5 years working in a small department of fee earners assisting Claimants who had suffered accidents an illnesses abroad.

I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2014 with the intention of originally being a primary school teacher. After having a slight change of heart I returned to university to undertake my GDL part-time whilst working in a law firm to gain experience. I later completed my LPC with the University of Law, Manchester.

Outside of work I am a member of a local running club, and also a swimming club in Manchester. I have previously completed two half-marathons and I am (loosely) planning a full marathon.
