I am a Solicitor working in the Commercial Litigation department at Butcher & Barlow’s dedicated Commercial Office at Gadbrook Park, Northwich.
I have experience in acting for both businesses and individuals in the following areas:
- Contract disputes;
- Injunction applications;
- Professional Negligence; and
- Equine litigation.
Prior to working at Butcher & Barlow, I studied BSc (Hons) Equine Science at Reaseheath College, before studying the GDL part-time at the University of Law. I then went on to study the Legal Practice Course and joint Masters part-time at the University of Law, Chester which culminated in my qualification as a Solicitor in 2019.
I have a keen interest in the Equine industry having been involved in horses from a young age. This interest has provided me with first-hand experience of the industry through both my degree in Equine Science in addition to spending many years working as a freelance groom before I came into law. The disciplines I have worked in are polo, eventing and show jumping. I spent my gap year travelling to New Zealand working for top-level polo players.
My involvement in the Equine industry has provided me with many contacts within the industry as well as in-depth knowledge of how the industry works.
I myself have competed in numerous disciplines, however, my main focus is now on eventing; I spend most weekends in the summer period at events either competing or watching my sister’s horse who is currently competing at 5* level.
I have further interest and experience in the breeding side of the Equine industry and breed my own sports horses.
Outside of work I spend most of my time outdoors – far too much of this time is spent attempting to ride and compete my horses.
I also enjoy spending time with my two nieces and taking my dog, Crumble, for a walk around the Cheshire countryside.
