We are pleased to welcome two new Agricultural Specialists, Kate Wilson and Tom Jones, to our Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team, strengthening the support we offer to farmers, landowners and rural businesses across the North West.

Kate joins us with a decade of experience in Commercial and Agricultural Property, and has developed a particular niche in Development Work. Tom, who qualified as a Solicitor in May 2023, also specialises in Commercial and Agricultural Property. Their arrival is an important step in the continued growth of our Agriculture and Rural Affairs offering and further enhances the Firm’s reputation for clear, practical advice for rural clients.

Speaking about her move, Kate said:

Butcher & Barlow has a strong reputation across the region for the quality of its work and the calibre of its people. Since joining the Firm it’s clear to me that the team’s strength lies in its deep knowledge, supportive culture, and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients. I’m excited to be joining a firm with such momentum, and I’m looking forward to contributing to that success.

Tom added,

The team has been incredibly welcoming. The culture and structure here make it easy to share knowledge and develop professionally. It’s clear that Butcher & Barlow is serious about investing in its people and building long-term client relationships, and I’m looking forward to playing my part.

Both Kate and Tom join under the leadership of Head of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Rebecca Jepson, who has overseen a smooth integration into the team. Their appointments come at a time of continued growth for the department, as we expand our Agri-Commercial services and strengthen our position as a trusted legal adviser to the rural community.

Rebecca said:

We’re delighted to welcome Kate and Tom to the firm. Their expertise and enthusiasm complement our existing team perfectly. Attracting talented lawyers who share our values and commitment to client service ensures we continue to deliver exceptional legal support to the agricultural community.

We are genuinely pleased to have Kate and Tom on board and we wish them every success in their new roles. Their knowledge, energy and commitment to rural clients will be a real asset to our Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team and to the communities we serve.

Whether you are a Farmer, Landowner or Rural Business Owner, our Agriculture and Rural Affairs Team is here to support you with clear, practical advice.
