Congratulations to Runcorn’s Notary Public

Butcher & Barlow is pleased to announce that solicitor and Partner Andy Mackenzie has qualified as a Notary Public.

Andy, the only Notary Public in Runcorn, and a commercial law specialist, has become a member of this prestigious profession after 2 years of study.

The role of Notary Public is the oldest branch of the legal profession and focuses on authentication and certification of signatures and documents for use abroad. This includes matters relating to a number of areas of law including conveyancing, workplace immigration, probate and Power of Attorney for individuals and companies.

Andy’s qualification adds him to the already four strong team of Notaries at Butcher & Barlow, and the 1,000 Notaries Publics in the whole of the UK.

Andy, who joined Butcher and Barlow as a Trainee solicitor in 2012, became a Partner in the Firm earlier this year.  His areas of expertise are corporate and commercial law, commercial property and commercial litigation.  Being able to offer notarial services to his and his colleague’s commercial and private clients in and around the Runcorn area is a positive addition to his specialisms.

The Runcorn office, situation on High Street, recently expanded in to neighbouring premises.  The new offices house the busy conveyancing team lead by Partner Lynsey Stuchfield. Jim Whittaker, a Runcorn resident, specialises in wills, probate and succession planning, and commercial conveyancing. Cathy Achilles and Helen Oakes provide family law advice.  The lawyers are assisted by three legal assistants and an 8 strong support team.

On his qualification Andy said:

‘I’m delighted to have qualified as a Notary Public. I’m looking forward to meeting with new clients and helping them deal with either their business or personal affairs abroad.’

Butcher & Barlow congratulates Andy on his achievement and wished him all the best with his new role.

Andy can be contacted at the Runcorn Office on 01928 576056 or email
