As many farmers have diversified and traditional partnerships may no longer be appropriate, farming businesses are seeking alternative business structures and with that comes the need for the review, updating and drafting of the business’s commercial agreements.
The Agricultural team here at Butcher & Barlow work with the Corporate and Commercial team to advise on, prepare and/or update:
- Farming Partnership Agreements;
- Shareholders’ Agreement;
- Cross Option Agreements;
- Contract Farming Agreements (including Share Farming).
We will also ensure that that that the Partnership Agreement or Shareholders Agreement interacts, and does not conflict with, prior succession planning advice. If necessary, we will revisit that advice and talk with you about updating your Wills.
We are available to attend ‘round the table’ meetings with farmers and rural business owners’ and their accountants or financial advisers. The first meeting is normally without charge, after which we will confirm our advice and provide a clear indication of the estimated costs.
