Brainy Solicitors Show Their Softer Side For Charity

Thirty women who work for Cheshire-based solicitors Butcher and Barlow joined the fight against cancer by running in this year’s Race for Life. Colleagues at the law firm took part in the 5k race which is held every year in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The girls showed they have beauty as well as brains by swapping their usual suits for a more glamorous look.

They joined thousands of other women for the race at Heaton Park, Prestwich, on June 21st and Arley Hall on July 5th.

Le-Ann Walker, a partner at Butcher and Barlow organised the team, which is called Brains & Beauty, said: "Lots of the women at Butcher and Barlow have been touched by cancer and know either a colleague or loved one who has been affected in some way.

"It's those people we did it for and who knows, it could be one of us needing the support one day."

It’s the fourth year Butcher and Barlow staff have competed in the race.

"Our male colleagues have been raising cash for other charities as the Butcher and Barlow Brains and Brawn team ... we wanted to add a little beauty to the fund raising efforts," she added.

The firm has eight offices across Cheshire and Manchester and employ an experienced team of solicitors and legal executives specially trained across a full range of legal services.
